The adventure begins...
You have been chosen to go on a dangerous mission. You are being transported back into the time of William Shakespeare, a time in the mid 1500s to early 1600s where life as you know it did not exist. As a visitor to this strange and wonderful time, it will be your job to investigate the sort of things that took place so that you can report your findings to the rest of the class. As a time traveler, your job is to learn as much as you can about your topic in order to best blend in with the people of Elizabethan England-- you certainly don't want them to know you are from the 21st century! Keep track of your information-- you will be filling in your fellow time travelers by presenting this information in a way that will help them remember what is important and what they will need to know to survive the trip and the times.
What will you need to do?
- Include accurate information that is interesting to your classmates
- Keep a complete, accurate MLA works cited page which reflects all of your research, including pictures and visuals
- Create a visual aid that helps us understand, remember and get interested
- Craft a presentation that gets us involved in more than just listening-- will you do this as a movie trailer? an advertisement? a game? a travel guide? a website? a keynote? some other creative way of presenting? Let your imagination go and consider which means of transmitting the information would work best with your topic and your speaking style.
- Keep your information and presentation to about 5-8 minutes of interesting, engaging material
- Speak professionally-- we will practice this in class!
- For extra fun, speak in quatrains of iambic pentameter! (Just kiddin'!)
